Animal Control calls are dispatched through the Del City Police Department. Call the non-emergency number for stray, nuisance, injured, or at-large animal concerns. Call 911 for an immediate threat to human life.

Start close to home.

    Check the current DCPD animal listings below and search the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare animals-in-care database.

    Use the public microchip scanning station at Del City City Hall when a found pet can be safely handled.

  3. 03

    If a safe temporary placement is possible, keep the animal secured away from other pets while trying to locate its owner.

  4. 04

    Share clear photographs and the found or last-seen location with local lost-and-found groups and nearby shelters.

Where Del City animals are taken

Animals picked up by Del City Animal Control are taken to the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Center. Call the shelter before traveling to confirm the animal is there, current release hours, ownership documentation, and applicable fees. Bring photo identification and proof of ownership or veterinary records when available.

Animals at large

Owners are responsible for keeping animals restrained and preventing them from running at large. Contact Animal Control for an animal creating a public-safety or nuisance concern.

Animal care and cruelty

Animals must receive humane care, adequate food, water, shelter, and necessary protection. Report suspected neglect, cruelty, or an animal in immediate danger.

Nuisance animals

Repeated noise, property damage, sanitation problems, or other animal-related interference may be investigated under applicable nuisance provisions.

Rabies and identification

Keep vaccination, identification, and ownership records current. These records can be important when reclaiming an impounded animal.
